This is a year that will not be forgotten. Amid the unrest, conflict and disorder, we all must take some time to recognize and celebrate the wins. In an ordinary year, it is easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day tasks and deliverables and quickly move past the successes. But in a year like 2020, those achievements are even more easily overshadowed by the challenges.
As I pause to think about the highs and lows Dittoe PR has experienced this year, I feel incredibly fortunate to say that we have come out on top. That is not to say there will not continue to be obstacles or hurdles ahead, but our team has overcome so much in a year that was unlike any other I’ve experienced. There is so much our team should be proud of for accomplishing in 2020, but below are my top five highlights, in no particular order.
#5 – New Team Members and Promotions
In 2020, we were fortunate to add some incredible talent to our team as well as promote several deserving team members.
- Ashley Eggert, VP of Clients Services
- Greta Snell, VP of Strategic Initiatives
- Sara Owens, Senior Account Manager
- Zoe Spilker, Account Executive
- Sydney Plichta, Account Executive
- Sarah Cox
- Ali Westergren
- Cooper Robinson
- Taylor Newton
- Bailey Timmers
Social Media Coordinator
- Gabby Crays
#4 – New Dittoe PR HQ
This fall, we moved into a new office space in the heart of Broad Ripple. This is Dittoe PR’s fifth office space since our founding in 1999, and may we say, we think it is the best yet! Chris and Liza Dittoe have put so much time and energy into making this new space feel like a home for our team. To say we all love it is an understatement. While most of the Dittoe PR team is working remotely, the office is open and team members have the option to come in, spread out and collaborate (six feet apart and masks on, of course).
#3 – Media Relations Award Winner
On Oct. 15, Ragan and PR Daily announced their 2020 Media Relations Award winners. We were thrilled to receive the first place award in the Purpose-Driven category for our ‘Question How You Hydrate’ campaign for client Lonely Whale. To showcase the history of single-use plastic water bottles, their impact and alternatives, Lonely Whale unveiled a pop-up Museum of Plastic in New York City and Miami. Dittoe PR was responsible for driving national and international media to attend and cover the Museum of Plastic. In total, the Question How You Hydrate Campaign has generated more than 365 million media impressions, over 120 media hits and nearly $3 million in advertising value.
#2 – Anti-Racism Coaching
Recently, our entire team has been participating in Anti-Racism Coaching with Katara and Brenna McCarty. All employees have taken the Harvard Implicit Bias Test, worked through Layla Saad’s book Me and White Supremacy, and now we are working collectively to craft a strategy and action plan for an organizational Anti-Racism Practice. It is our goal to weave what we learn into our culture of belonging, hiring practices, vision statement, values and more, and commit to personal and organizational anti-racism practices.
#1 – Dittoe PR Named to Forbes List of America’s Best PR Agencies 2021
In October, Dittoe PR was named to Forbes’ ranking of America’s Best PR Agencies 2021. Only 200 firms across the United States made the list, and Dittoe PR is the only agency in the state of Indiana recognized as one of the nation’s top PR agencies.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista, who surveyed more than 12,700 PR experts and 20,500 customers to nominate a total of 5,000 PR firms nationwide. Statista narrowed the list to the top 200 PR agencies and then awarded each company a four-star or five-star rating based on the highest number of recommendations. We’re proud to share Dittoe PR received a perfect five-star rating.
Now is the time to pause and reflect on all you have accomplished this year, big and small. And if you have big plans for 2021 and need a trusted PR partner, we would love to talk with you!
