Last month, I had the opportunity to attend the 107th Annual American International Toy Fair in New York City with Dittoe PR client, Bella Sara. I know what you’re thinking…what kind of job leads to Toy Fair? Well, mine does!  As I’m sure you can imagine, Toy Fair was not your typical trade show. The bright colors, costumed characters and circus marching band were only a few aspects of the show that made me realize this was going to one for the books.

Prior the show, Dittoe PR unleashed their media relations expertise and worked day in and day out to coordinate face-to-face meetings with representatives from the numerous toy and licensing trade publications.  While at the show, we were able to introduce the Bella Sara team to these journalists and spend quality time getting to know one another, while discussing the brand more in-depth.  After a successful showing at Toy Fair, I realized how valuable it is to meet these industry journalists, but most importantly, how essential it is to spend quality time with your client.  With The Bella Sara team located in Seattle, Washington, we conduct most of our work via phone and e-mail. I can’t even begin to tell you how rewarding it was to be able to sit down to dinner and discuss, in person, all the exciting upcoming Bella Sara projects that would involve Dittoe PR’s services.

After taking part in this experience, I urge everyone to make time for their clients when you can, even if it means flying across the country every once in a while. The time spent together is bound to be memorable, and it will only benefit your working relationship.
