Broken Beaker is Mass Ave’s first on-site distillery and a business with a story that was begging to be told. Needless to say, hiring the professional storytellers at Dittoe PR was a no-brainer for these science minded entrepreneurs.
More often than not, 75 percent of the time they aren’t responding because of deadlines, not enough time or they just aren’t interested, but what about the other 25 percent? It’s your pitch, folks.
I’ve found that these three skills, among others, are essential to being a successful PR pro on a daily basis. The catch? They aren’t necessarily something you’ll pick up in a classroom environment.
Since journalists are on the receiving end of most PR efforts, they have just as much say in how these relationships should work. It’s no easy task delivering a perfectly crafted email with a clear and concise angle in mind… that also creates the “spark” for a story. PR professionals and the media are constantly running against the clock, so everything should have always been done… like, yesterday. But in order to appease both parties there has to be a middle ground.
