Skylar Whitney

Account Executive


After emerging from what she calls her “scene-kid phase” in middle school, Skylar traded in her angst-filled diary for a love of creative writing. That passion, paired with a high school journalism class, led Skylar to Indiana University’s Media School where she developed a mostly healthy obsession with the multifaceted and always-on world of PR.


Upon graduating with a degree in journalism, a minor in marketing from the Kelley School of Business, and specializations in both public relations and advertising in 2015, Skylar earned a spot in Dittoe PR’s internship program. But her stint as a Dittoe intern didn’t last long. After quickly establishing herself as a knowledgeable and resourceful PR pro (and reliable office weather-girl), Skylar rose in the ranks to become an Account Executive in which she regularly secures national, local and trade media coverage, develops traditional PR and social media strategies, and coordinates grand opening events for clients such as Seven Corners, Inc., The Cellular Connection and Broken English Taco Pub in Indianapolis.


Skylar believes that if you truly want the rainbow, you’ve got to put up with a little rain. When she’s not kicking butt for her clients, she enjoys reading (and re-reading) fiction novels, binge-watching the latest Netflix original series and obsessing over all things Panic! at the Disco.
