Dittoe PR Secures 100 Guests, 2.7 Million Impressions for Hickory House Grand Opening

Most recently, our multi-faceted team was put to the ultimate test. Dittoe PR was enlisted to plan a grand opening event for Hickory House, Indiana’s newest and most comprehensive drug rehabilitation and alcohol addiction treatment center. In addition to overseeing the entire event planning process from start to finish, we were also tasked with executing a tailored media relations strategy.

The challenge? The event was less than 45 days away, and the facility wouldn’t be completed until just days before its grand opening. Fortunately, our extensive experience in planning similar events for clients prepared us to tackle this project.

Leading up to the event, Dittoe PR handled an enumeration of responsibilities. This included assembling the entire run of show, creating and designing marketing collateral and sending out event invitations. Our team also secured more than 100 event attendees, assisted with speeches for speakers, assembled gift bags for guests, secured vendors and much more. On the day of the event, the Dittoe PR team was also responsible for leading tours of the facility for guests, emceeing the event, answering Hickory House related questions for event attendees and other relevant duties.

Simultaneously, our team implemented and executed a tailored media relations strategy focused on inviting media to receive individualized tours of the Hickory House facility before patients arrived. Dittoe PR’s efforts resulted in 20 media placements, including WTHR-TV (NBC), WISH-TV (CW), WXIN-TV (FOX) and the Greenfield Daily-Reporter. Within a couple of days, media placements totaled more than 2.7 million impressions and an ad equivalency value of nearly $44,000.

Pete Dye still swinging at 90: Opens Westfield’s Chatham Hills

Famed golf architect, Pete Dye spent five years and hundreds of hours crafting a championship course at Chatham Hills. The private course, expected to be among the best in the Midwest, is part of an upscale residential community that recently opened in Westfield.

In addition to generating earned media coverage for the course, Dittoe PR was responsible for shooting and editing a promotional video that would be shown at the course’s soft opening where Pete and Alice Dye were slated to speak and hit a ceremonial tee shot.

It was essential that our video paid proper tribute to the Dyes so that Chatham Hills could use it in their marketing mix for years to come.

Once we held a strategy meeting with the Chatham Hills team to determine goals and key messaging for the video, Dittoe PR set up two separate video shoots. First, we went out to Chatham Hills and shot scenic views and were lucky enough to have Pete Dye himself give us an exclusive tour of the course! We rode on golf carts with Pete and got some great shots of him walking the course and taking a few swings. Our second day of shooting consisted of sit-down interviews with Chatham Hills executives talking about the development of the course and the years of hard work Pete and Alice put into turning their vision into a reality. After two days of filming, our team had everything we needed to create a visual story for Chatham Hills.

Turning around the video in just over a week’s time allowed us to pitch it local and regional media in order to generate interest for the event.

By using the promotional video in our media outreach, our team was able to coordinate six interviews on the day of the soft opening including live shots by WISH-TV’s Anthony Calhoun and WRTV’s Dave Furst. In total, our team secured 56 media placements and generated a buzz on social media that resulted in 260 posts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

A SUBstantial Grand Opening for GetGo Cafe + Market

For many, driving to and from work, school, appointments, etc. has opened Pandora’s box to “sub”-par food decisions. However, a Pennsylvania chain is attempting to change the narrative that busy people can’t eat quick and fresh meals.

GetGo Cafe + Market, a convenient concept from multi-format food retailer Giant Eagle, offers a wide-ranging menu of made-fresh-to-order foods including custom-made subs, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, smoothies and expressos, and more.

After adding a location in Carmel last October, the chain is continuing to expand into Central Indiana with the addition of four new Indianapolis-area locations. The expansion will create more than 150 jobs.

Dittoe PR was tasked with raising awareness about the expansion and did so in star-studded fashion.

Alongside the GetGo team, Dittoe PR helped plan and execute “sub-cutting” ceremonies and charitable sub-building challenges involving community members at two grand openings in Plainfield and Rockville Road in Indianapolis. Adding even more excitement, celebrity chef and renowned restaurateur Michael Symon joined in the grand opening celebrations.

While Dittoe PR coordinated on-site media opportunities, Symon diced up subs and welcomed hungry customers at both locations. In total, Dittoe PR’s effort resulted in 22 media placements including the Indy Star, FOX59, WISH-TV, Indy Style, WIBC and RTV6 – with more to come. Within a couple days, media placements totaled more than 2 million impressions.
