Nation’s top football leaders learn how to make football a better, safer game
This weekend, 26 high school coaches and former NFL and college players gathered in Indianapolis to learn how to make the game of football safer with instruction and training from USA Football, the sport’s national governing body. Each of the 26 football leaders were selected by USA Football to become Master Trainers, who help promote a better, safer game on youth and high school levels nationwide. The workshop instructed these Trainers on Heads Up Football blocking and tackling techniques, as well as other life-saving protocols for youth players. After this weekend, each of the Master Trainers will take what they learned to youth football leagues and high schools around the country this spring and summer. Indy’s CW affiliate WISH-TV shared a behind-the-scenes look of the workshop with their viewers. Watch the segment here.
