National football leaders go “back to school” with USA Football safety workshop
Over the weekend, Indianapolis-based USA Football invited more than two-dozen football leaders from 15 states to the Circle City to participate in a player safety workshop. The participants, who were a mix of high school coaches and former NFL and college players, were selected by USA Football to become Master Trainers to help revolutionize the way the game of football is played nationwide. The workshop allowed the coaches to learn about handling concussions, over-heating and equipment fittings. They were also taught the principles of USA Football’s Heads Up Football program and received special training to prevent sudden cardiac arrest. WTHR-TV, Indianapolis’ NBC affiliate was able to give their viewers an inside look of the workshop and interview some of the new Master Trainers. See the full segment here.
