Sputnik-sized grand opening propels Broken Beaker Distillery

Focusing on the experimental side of distilled spirits and craft cocktails, Broken Beaker Distillery opened its doors yesterday to a warm welcome (minus the weather). The bar was packed and popping within the first ten minutes and didn’t slow down until last call.IMG_9079

Inspired by their owners, a chemist and an engineer by trade, Broken Beaker combines humor and science to create an atmosphere unlike any other on the popular Massachusetts Avenue.

The distillery focuses on the ‘experimental’ side of craft cocktails. Periodic table shelving extrudes from behind the bar and holds signature and seasonal spirits with quirky, scientific names. Broken Beaker’s soapstone bar top and classic laboratory bar stools bring back memories of a high school chemistry classroom while foosball tables and 50-inch TVs modernize the trendy 3,500-square-foot distillery.

Guided tours provide customers and alcohol aficionados a sneak peek into the on-site distillery and encourage feedback and ideas for future science-infused spirits. An outdoor patio is already planned for this spring.

If one thing can be said about the new Market District and GetGo Cafe + Market stores it’s that they’ve got style. The two stores, subsidiaries of the multi-format retailer Giant Eagle, Inc., opened with a bang this week in Carmel.

In addition to showcasing their unique products, the opening turned into a star-studded affair with an opportunity for local media, as well as foodie, family and lifestyle bloggers, to get one-on-one interactions with Market District and GetGo executives, Market District’s culinary chefs, and celebrity guest Marc Summers, host of “Unwrapped” and executive producer of “Restaurant: Impossible” on Food Network.

How Dittoe PR assisted in the Market District opening

Market District is Giant Eagle, Inc.’s first store in the Indiana market and needless to say, they were excited to bring the unique foodie concept and its offerings to Carmel. They brought Dittoe PR on board to ensure that consumers and media were just as excited about its grand opening.

Leading up to the grand opening, Dittoe PR worked to secure prime coverage for Market District and ensure the opening was at the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Welcoming B Spot Burgers to Indianapolis

Burgers, bologna, brats, bourbon and beer. What more could you ask for? Award-winning chef Michael Symon is now offering all of his favorite “B’s” to Indy with his restaurant chain, B Spot Burgers.

The new burger eatery is located at Ironworks at Keystone (2727 E. 86th St.), one of Indianapolis’ premier living and retail properties. With seven other locations throughout Ohio and Michigan, the Indy spot marks the celebrity chef’s eighth home for the burger joint. This is the first to the Hoosier state.

How Dittoe PR assisted in the B Spot opening

In preparation for the B Spot opening, Dittoe PR took the lead on securing all existing coverage to date, coordinated interview prep and handled all local outreach.

We began teasing to local Indianapolis and regional Indiana media back in April. We then worked to coordinate the grand opening throughout the months of May and June. And after setting the opening date we were able to follow up to media.

We primarily focused on getting coverage from major Indy outlets (IBJ, Indy Star, Indy Monthly) as well as top-tier local bloggers. We also pitched TV cooking segments, Q&As with Michael Symon, and local TV segments.

Our PR efforts were quite a success. Check out the list of coverage below for more information on B Spot Burgers:
